Basmati Rice

Only Basmati rice grown in this region can be called Basmati rice. Basmati word can be translated as “fragrance”. This rice is characterized by a very long and thin grain that keeps its same size when cooked, but develops its characteristic flavor of hazelnut. Basmati rice is especially good for exotic or oriental dishes with fruits and spices like curry, ginger or saffron.

The typical taste of basmati rice is due to the cultures made in September when the flowers bloom in cool weather. The usual rice-growing areas are in low altitude river landscapes in Southeast Asia, which depend on annual flooding during the rainy season, to warm up. Basmati rice from the highlands of at least 800 m, stored for at least one year, have a first-class quality thanks to their flavor and digestibility.
